Steve's Bio

“From childhood’s hour I have not been as others were; I have not seen as others saw.”  Edgar Allan Poe, ‘Alone’ [1829]

Steve T. Sadaka enjoys the simple things in life. Once a recluse at heart, he began writing in the early 1980s by candle light in the loft of his first apartment. There he penned a number of poems, songs and short stories drawing from a world of influences and fodder from several tragedies. From the spring to fall equinox, he writes in his red cedar cabin perched above a lake in the Gatineau Hills of Quebec. During the winter, he reconnects with his music, jams at local establishments during open mic nights, and plays hockey and poker with his friends. He lives in Kanata, Ontario, where he's in the twilight of his career as the head caretaker of an intermediate school.
